Improvements included  8 foot wide paw prints... palm trees... benches, surfboard/pawprint sculptures and a tandem human / dog drinking fountain. The Dog beach Improvement Project was 10 years in the making. The community jumped in with two feet and four paws to help the Dog Beach Committee of the Ocean Beach Town Council (OBTC.) - Dog Beach Committee Chairs include former OBTC President Barb Ayers and my surf dog, basset Howdy Doody and Dave Martin.Photo by John Gibbons

Doxie Doodle, my 4th generation surfing dog of Surf Dog DiariesDoodle is a doxie wa-wa, or chi-weenie -- 14 pounds when wet. He is the 4th generation Ayers family surf hound. Here he is on our 9'5" Rocky surfboard - towed behind a ski boat. This is Doodle's first wake board surfing session on the Colorado River in Arizona - with our friends at Convair Waterski Club. This is one of our secret surf spots.Check out his YouTube here
