We brake for basset hounds - NW Cherry Festival parade - and we won a ribbon!

Surf Dog Diaries out in the community -- we brake for basset hounds -- doxie Doodle and I couldn't pass this beauty up on the parade route. We won third in the huge parade - go figure! Photo: Flora Gibson, The Dalles Chronicle

What a blast we had in this parade last weekend.... we won a ribbon - 3rd place in a very competitive parade. We live in the land of cherries here in the Columbia River Gorge!

Look for a quick cameo of doxie Doodle of Surf Dog Diaries on a surfboard in the pro video below ...  it captures the spirit of community alive and well at the NW Cherry Festival in Oregon! Thanks to The Dalles Area Chamber of Commerce for the great video - and Immense Imagery.

We'll post our own video this weekend - a hysterical Doodle eye view (GoPro video) of the parade right here!

Here's our Cherry festival photo blog from last year "With A Cherry on Top" - with two dogs on board - or click on the photo below. This year, we rode in honor of basset brothers Dude and Elvis were in prior parades (RIP.)
