Dear Dog Diary:

Rupert, Rupert, Rupert. Sigh. That boy. I am filling in for him this week because he's zoned out on meds. He got an ear infection in both ears, despite DogMother's regular cleaning, and pawed one ear so hard he gave himself a hematoma. The boy got laser treatment for that! I think our dog biscuit budget is shot this month and next. Oh well. 

So, it's been feels-like-100-something weather here in Maryland. Multiply that by 4, because my naked pads have to deal with hot surfaces.

We short-nosed types can struggle in this humid weather, so we are maxing out on sleep and water and toes-up naps in front of a fan. 

We are also being very, very careful. The boxer up the street was bitten on the muzzle by a full-grown copperhead snake. He survived, because his boxer jumping skills shook off the snake.  His facial muscles are still affected. Snakes are looking for cool shrubbery that still has dew or rainwater in it. 

Ahhh....I feel na-na time creeping up on me. Later.
